Youth development & creative artsG-Squared Performing Arts
A community-based dance school developing young talent through Ballet, Modern, Hip-Hop and Contemporary.

About the programme
Founded in 2015 by Gio Fisher and Gita Arends, out of a love for dance and a desire to impact young lives, G-Squared Performing Arts is a part-time, community-based dance school. Students come from Retreat, Steenberg, Grassy Park, Lavender Hill and even Kensington.
Training covers four genres, Ballet, Modern, Hip-Hop and Contemporary, for students aged 3 and up, including adults in their 40s. The dance year includes exams in every genre, competitions and a highly anticipated annual show.
In 2024, nine G-Squared students earned SA Colours.
Achievements
- Top 3 placings in all competition entries (as reported in 2024).
- Nine students earned SA Colours in 2024 and were selected to represent South Africa at the World Championships in Blackpool, England.
- That was the school's second international tour, after the Senior Crew competed in France in 2021.
Quality and inclusion
Graded exams are central to the studio, building technique and a sense of accomplishment as students progress. Instructors are certified through AIDT (Association of International Dance Teachers), TDA (Theatre Dance Association) and DSCL (Dance Sport Club League).
With six part-time instructors, the studio warmly welcomes students of all races and religions.
